Not all goods can travel the same way. Some products require specific loading conditions, strict timelines, or simply cannot share a vehicle with other consignments.
For these situations, dedicated freight transport is the only sensible answer — and at LDE we manage it with our own fleet, built up over more than 25 years.
Dedicated freight transport is a service in which a vehicle is reserved exclusively for a single client or a single shipment. No additional loads, no intermediate stops for other customers, no compromises on how the goods are handled.
It is the right solution for companies in any of the following situations: goods that require particular loading conditions, shipments with rigid delivery windows, delicate or high-value products that cannot be mixed with other loads, or clients who have agreed a precise arrival time with their recipient.
In all these cases, standard transport — groupage or LTL (Less Than Truckload) — does not offer the guarantees required.
In groupage or partial-load transport, shipments from multiple clients are consolidated onto the same vehicle. It is an efficient solution for small-to-medium volumes, but it inevitably involves intermediate stops, longer transit times and less flexibility in how the goods are managed.
Dedicated freight transport eliminates these variables: the vehicle leaves the collection point and arrives at the destination without deviation, with the load managed according to the client's specific instructions. For B2B dedicated transport, where the end recipient is another company with binding unloading windows, production lines to feed or warehouses with predefined slots, this difference is not a detail — it is decisive.
Our dedicated freight transport service is based on an own fleet of heavy vehicles and vans, all equipped with satellite tracking systems that allow us to monitor every shipment in real time. We do not collect third-party goods indiscriminately: every transport is designed around the client's specific requirements — type of goods, loading and unloading methods, schedules, destination.
"Our transport service is customised to the client. We do not collect third-party goods indiscriminately. We are able to give each partner the type of transport they require, by appointment or with specific conditions dictated by the type of goods we need to handle. It is a strength that is recognised: a service like ours is not easy to find."
— Carlo Bighetti, Head of Transport, LDE
This flexibility is not accidental. It comes from more than 25 years of experience managing, as a logistics operator with its own fleet, clients across very different sectors — for example fashion, hi-tech, food and automotive — each with radically different transport requirements.
Entrusting your logistics to an operator with its own fleet means having direct control over every stage of the transport. Staff are trained in-house, vehicles are monitored by satellite, and the chain of responsibility is direct: no opaque subcontracting, no handovers to third-party carriers without supervision.
For companies seeking a tailored transport service, this translates into real predictability: knowing who you are speaking to, who is physically handling your goods, and having a direct point of contact able to respond and intervene when needed.
Large operators working on mass volumes and networks of subcontractors struggle to guarantee this. We do.
Our warehouses along the A4 motorway — in Brembate (Bergamo), Trezzo sull'Adda (Milan) and Telgate (Bergamo) — allow us to manage dedicated transport across Northern Italy with fast departures and capillary coverage. For Central and Southern Italy and international routes, we operate through selected partner carriers, maintaining the same tailored service logic we apply to direct routes.
Tailored freight transport is not the right solution for every type of shipment, and it would be wrong to present it as such.
The dedicated service has a higher cost than groupage or LTL, and that cost is only justified when the value of the goods, the rigidity of the timelines or the specific transport conditions make it necessary.
The situations in which we recommend it most frequently to our clients: shipments with binding delivery times, high-value or fragile goods, loads requiring specific equipment (tail lift, curtain sides), and clients who need full traceability and a dedicated point of contact for every shipment.
For everything else, our shipping and transport service includes FTL, LTL and express national and international solutions: often the right choice is finding the most suitable mode case by case, rather than applying a single solution to all flows.
Every dedicated shipment has its own specifics: type of goods, destination, timelines, loading conditions.
